Even more, as a treat to ARMY who also love K-Dramas, BTS members, Jin, V and JiMin have sung OSTs for famous K-Dramas. Here are the OSTs sung by them and are a must to listen.
1. OST Of “Itaewon Class”, ‘Sweet Night’ By BTS’ V
“Itaewon Class” is a story about Park SaeRoi (played by Park SeoJun), whose world turns upside down when he is expelled for punching a bully and, soon after, loses his father. Park SaeRoi opens a pub in Itaewon, named DanBam. Jo YiSeo (played by Kim DaMi)- joins him as the new manager. Together they wish to reach heights of success with the pub. On March 13th, 2020, BTS’ V released his first solo OST for “Itaewon Class”, ‘Sweet Night’. The folksy-indie pop song warmed the hearts of the listeners and ARMY could not help but awe in admiration. The song was personally produced by BTS’ V himself. Following its release, ‘Sweet Night’ surpassed 200 million streams on Spotify by Feb. 2022. Hence, it is the first Korean OST to achieve such success.
2. OST Of “Jirisan”, ‘You’ By BTS’ Jin
“Jirisan” follows the story of Seo YiKang (played by Jun JiHyun), who is the best ranger at Jiri Mountain National Park. She virtually knows everything about the mountain. On board comes another ranger, Kang HyunJo (played by Ju JiHoon), a mysterious man. The two rangers team up to investigate the mysterious incidents occurring in the Jirisan mountains. BTS’ Jin excelled at delivering the low and high notes in the song, and his honey-like voice soothed the ones listening. Netizens applauded his vocals and many compared his voice to a jewel. ‘Yours’ made history on Spotify by receiving more than 1.4 million streams within 15 hours of its release, even before it was available in Japan. It is also the fastest Korean OST to reach 3 million streams on Spotify.
3. OST Of “Our Beloved Summer”, ‘Christmas Tree’ By BTS’ V
After the success of ‘Sweet Night’, BTS’ V returned with another OST for “Our Beloved Summer”, ‘Christmas Tree’. The fans were given a sneak peak of the OST in earlier in episode 1 and on December, 24th, 2021, the full version was released. “Our Beloved Summer” follows the story of two high school sweet hearts, Choi Woong (Choi WooShik) and Kook YeonSu (Kim DaMi). The two came together because of a documentary filmed at their school but soon the two parted ways. Years later, the documentary surfaced on social media and went viral. The two have to come together again to film another documentary. ‘Christmas Tree’ is a treat to fans. The song is a combination of a soft acoustic guitar melody and BTS V’s unique deep voice. Choi WooShik, who is friends with BTS’ V, himself admitted that the song was a seasoning for him and even helped him in acting. The song too made history when ‘Christmas Tree’ entered the Billboard Charts, being the first Korean OST to enter the American music charts.
4. OST of “Hwarang”, ‘Even If I Die It’s You’ By BTS’ V And Jin
Going back to 2016, BTS’ V and Jin sang an OST for the drama “Hwarang”. BTS V also made his acting debut in the drama. Alongside BTS’ V, the drama starred Park SeoJoon, Park HyungSik, Go Ara, Do JiHan and SHINee’s MinHo. “Hwarang” is a historical K-Drama that follows the story of an elite group of males from the Kingdom of Silla. ‘Even If I Die It’s You’ emits a cheerful romantic vibe that will instantly light up the listener’s mood. Fans were in love with how beautifully BTS’ V and Jin’s voices blended together and, not to forg et, Jin’s flawless high notes did not go unnoticed.
5. OST Of “Our Blues”, ‘With You’ By BTS’ JiMin
Last but not the least is the song ‘With You’. The OST was sung by BTS’ JiMin and Ha SungWoon for the drama “Our Blues”. The song broke many records. One of them was topping iTune charts within 4 hours of its release. ‘With You’ was immensely anticipated and the wait was worth it. ‘With You’ was released on April. 24, and listeners got a preview of the song in the sixth episode of “Our Blues”. The song acts like a comforting embrace yet intensifies the heart-breaking backdrop provided in the drama. Fans are in love with BTS’ JiMin and Ha SungWoon’s melodious voices beautifully blended together and so are we! BTS has made history even with their OSTs.
