There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other. So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias. Fina from Malaysia is the next fan to answer our questions. She is a fan of VICTON and more particularly of SeungSik! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more! Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from? Hi, I am Fina and I am ALICE from Malaysia! How and when did you enter the fandom? I started knowing VICTON through Chan’s brother HeoJun (Madtown). From there I was looking forward to their debut and watching “me7nam” as that was their first show. I fell in love with them as soon as I watched their 1st episode and fell deeper as I listened to their vocals. What are the reasons why you love your favorite group? Erm..there are so many reasons to list but first the reason I love them is because of their vocals and music is suitable with my kind of genre from the title songs to their b-tracks too. Also not forgetting their solo albums and osts too, everything is just so perfect because of their beautiful vocals and rap skills too. Secondly I love the way they interact and treasure their fans ALICE! They always have ALICE in their thoughts so it makes our present feel more meaningful. Thirdly, their personality is something that I can be proud of. They are kind and humble people not only to their fans but also to the staff and people around them. Who caught your attention at first and why? The first one that caught my attention is Heo Chan because I got to know VICTON from his brother. Who is your bias, and why? My current bias is Kang SeungSik, the leader and main vocalist of the group. I sincerely love him because of his beautiful vocals and personality too. He is the reason I decided to stay with the group too. SeungSik is really a kind and constant person as his way of showing love to ALICE never changes and even increases each day. So I cannot help but to love him even more. Plus SeungSik has this cute side of him and also can be super charismatic on stage too. Anyways at the end, VICTON is the group where all members are loveable and you can’t help but love them more each day. Please come and stan them together ^_^. Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans? I would like to recommend ‘Time of Sorrow’ as the title track especially for the new fans because I think it suits as the introduction for the group. And for B-side tracks I would like to recommend ‘Timeline’, I love the lyrics and I think the individual vocals and rap part of each member stood out well in this song. Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers? Recently SeungSik released a 스물여덟 번째 봄ㅣLIVE CLIP of SEUNGSIK on his birthday, I would like to suggest the video because Seungsik sang a few of his solo songs and also some song covers. Please listen a lot to his beautiful voice ^-^ Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group? For introduction I would like to recommend the “Born Identity” show (all episodes) for the new ALICE who is interested to know them better. Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics? My favourite lyrics will be from the song ‘Here I am’: “Here I am, When it’s tough, turn around and I’ll protect you. I’ll always be behind you. All of me, you can count on me for a while Don’t worry because you have me I’ll always be by your side everyday…” The lyrics help me a lot during my hard times. Are there any words from the members you would like to share? SeungSik once wrote: “I hope everyone only has a peaceful day just like the calm water in that cup. I cannot take back ALICE’s hard/difficult and sad memories, but from a certain moment you will live a peaceful calming life, so hang in there!” and he also said “As I said before, there are more average days than happy and difficult days.. if you look at it that way, the average days can be happy days too, so let’s cheer up~! Fighting !” These words make me appreciate more of a thing that I might have taken for granted, it is just a simple word but it hits me deeper than anything. What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life? For VICTON, they make me appreciate every single moment in my life especially for my 20s, make me feel grateful and safe too. For you, what is your bias’ best stage outfits until now? Please share a picture or fan cam. I think ALICE would agree if I said that his outfit in the ‘Unpredictable’ stage is one of the best outfits. And for my personal favourite will be the “Unicorn Concert Stage” outfits (honestly all members are so handsome that day). If you go to only one, would you go to a concert, fan meeting, or fan sign? If I got to choose one, I would like to go to their concert. I have never gone to a concert before and having my first experience with VICTON would make it more meaningful as an ALICE “ALways we Love the voICE”. I want to listen to their beautiful voice especially SeungSik too ~ Can you recall a moment where you cried/laughed with your bias? I think the most memorable one was during their Voice to Alice Fanmeeting and their first win in music broadcast in 2019. My bias SeungSik is one of the members who can cry easily but on both those days, he was crying a lot and also the VICTON members too. Also HanSe mentioned that SeungWoo, who wasn’t there, also cried when he sent them a video letter. It was such a meaningful day for them and ALICE too. If you have a chance to cook for the group, what will you cook for them? I want to cook Nasi Minyak and Nasi Ayam. I think both menus will suit their taste as some of them can’t really handle spicy foods. What about your bias do you relate to the most? We both unconsciously love to nag and love to hear some compliment too. Do you have a dream subunit/unit? I want to have a subunit of SeungSik and Chan. Both of them have a very different vocal tone and I think they can complete each other’s vocals well. Chan is also a composer and I hope I can see more of his works in future together with SeungSik if he wants. If you can spend a day with your bias, where will you go and what will you do? Maybe visit or do some car camping to a place with natural surroundings. Describe them (VICTON) in 5 words

Knowing more people who have the same interest as me and my sort of way of distraction when I am having a hard time. Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)? Victon has already officially changed their leader since 2020 from Han Seungwoo to Kang Seungsik. Though Seungsik was the temporary leader in 2019, they then decided to make him as the official leader in 2020. Do give VICTON a lot of support in future too 💙💛 Fina’s message to SeungSik: For SeungSik, I just want you to know that you are doing great and I am always proud of you. From the position as the leader and main vocalist for the group to the musical actor and a singer itself , every journey with you are my most precious memories that I wish to keep till the rest of my life. Thank you for making my average days more meaningful and making me appreciate every aspect in my life in a positive way. I love you and I’ll support as much as I can 💙💛.
